2nd Annual Girls Weekend in Kansas City

The past 3 days was just about making more memories.... with my girls.

This weekend marked our annual "Girls Weekend in KC". My girlfriends Lissa, Darla and I join up once a year to watch baseball, laugh, shop, eat, drink and reflect on our time apart from each other. The first part of our trip we are joined by Lissa's daughters, Courtney and Danee and then we complete our time together with just the three of us.

It dawned on us this weekend that we all meet over 14 years ago. Wow... where has the time gone. Our friendship all began when we all worked together in Springfield, Missouri and a bond was formed over a Thursday night "Friends" and "ER" watch party.

Over the years we have watched each other become individuals and it is a unique friendship that we all cheerish deeply and never take for granted. With me being in Fayetteville, Darla in Springfield and Lissa in Columbia we all live far enough apart that we don't see each other as often as we wish but when we do get together we don't miss a beat picking up the pieces where we left off. We have seen each other through break ups, marriages, job changes, moves, graduations, illnesses and a whole lot more that dares to be published but through it all we always had each other and I am blessed for that...

On Thursday we went to Kauffman stadium and watched the Royals play... It was really hot but tons of fun. And they WON, which was extra special. We were staying at a hotel just across the street from the stadium so it was convenient to just walk back to the hotel. Danee left later that evening and Courtney stayed the night and left on Friday morning.

On Friday we went to The Plaza where we stayed at the Raphael Hotel. It was right on the Plaza with a wonderful view. We walked the streets of the Plaza and did some window shopping... and of course people watching and grabbed a quick bite at a quaint cafe. For dinner we went to a favorite restaurant of mine "The Melting Pot" with only fondue on their menu. Melted Cheese and Melted Chocolate.... A girls best friend!!!! YUMMY.

After laughing until our sides hurt we left and walked back to our room.. What a fun night!!!

Lissa and Darla I love you and can't wait to have another 14 years (and many more) to share together.
