Happy Halloween

Before the little darling came along I never got much out of Halloween.
It was a good excuse to get together with friends but I never got much out of the holiday.
Until this year. :)
Emerson is just old enough to know when she is dressing up and feeling special.  She wore her little outfit with style and had more of a sass about her all day because of it.

We started the day at LiL Sprouts at the Botanical Gardens.  Lots of fun watching the kids get into the energy of the day and I loved seeing how excited they were to be with all their friends.
It was a GORGEOUS day!!  Blue skies and just the perfect temperature.  So that certainly set the mood perfectly.

oh the suckers...

Look...  mommy does appear in front of the camera  :)

Rrrrrrrr...  Bat Girl on the prowl..

This little scene was hysterical.  The girls wandered clear to another part of the field and found the stash of treats the ladies were handing out during the parade.  Each bucket had a different toy.  These silly girls sat and meticulously discussed and traded these things for a least 5 minutes.  They knew EXACTLY what they were doing..

Finally Emerson just grabbed them and brought them over to where we were sitting so she could decide exactly what was coming home with us..  Lil Stinker.

After the Botanical Gardens we went home to chill a bit.  Ate some real food and attempted to nap.  After MANY suckers my child was climbing the WALLS!!!  But finally fell asleep and took a little nap before we did it all over again.
We decided to go to the Fayetteville Square as a family.  All the downtown vendors came out and provided Trick-or-Treating around the Square.  There were a ton of people and it was fun to people watch and get ideas for future costumes.

Em and Uncle Andy

We left the square and went to Andy and Christine's for a quick bite to eat.  Then we went back to our neighborhood and hung out at the neighbors and let the kids play.   Em had fun watching all the trick-or-treaters come to us instead of us going door-to-door ourselves.  I better take advantage of it while it lasts.   :)

Happy Halloween Everyone..  Till Next year.
